Illinois Results At The Olympic Trials

It was a magical two weeks as the best of the USA battled to have the chance to compete for Team USA. We had multiple athletes make the Team with another having some great top 10 performances. We look at who qualified for the finals and their performances from the US Trials.


  • Zach Ziemek (Formerly of Lake Park) takes 2nd in the Decathlon with a score of 8516. He is the first american to compete for Team USA in three Olympic Games.

  • Tori Franklin (Formerly of Downers Grove South) takes 3rd in the Womens Triple Jump with a leap of 45-0.25. She will represent the USA in Paris.

  • Erin Reese (Formerly of Prospect) takes 3rd in the Womens Hammer Throw. She threw a mark of 233-7. She waits to see if her world ranking is high enough to qualify for Paris.

  • Janeah Stewart (Formerly of Thornwood) takes 5th in the Womens Hammer Throw with a mark of 230-9.

  • Luke Winder (Formerly of Plainfield Central) and Zach Bradford (Formerly of Bloomington) tie for 6th in the Mens Pole Vault with a mark of 18-5.25.

  • Shamier Little (Formerly of Lindblom) takes 9th in the Womens 400m with a time of 50.96.

  • Evan Jager (Formerly of Jacobs) takes 4th in the Mens 3K Steeple with a mark of 8:28.73.

  • Courtney Lindsey (Formerly of Rock Island) takes 6th in the Mens 100m with a time of 10.02. We will wait to see if he makes the 4x100m pool.

  • Will Williams (Formerly of Bloom Twp) takes 9th in the Mens Long Jump in 25-5.50.

  • Jayden Ulrich (Formerly of East Alton-Wood River) takes 2nd in the Womens Discus with a throw of 205-5. She will have to see if her world ranking gets her to Paris. Its likely that she will.

  • Courtney Lindsey (Formerly of Rock Island) takes 6th in the Mens 200m with a time of 20.00 .

  • Emily Grove (Formerly of Pontiac) takes 9th in the Womens Pole Vault with a vault of 14-6.25.

  • Dylan Jacobs (Formerly of Sandburg) takes 5th in the Mens 5K with a time of 13:17.26.

  • Helen Schlachtenhaufen (Formerly of Lake Forest) takes 8th in the Womens 1500m with a time of 3:59.71.

  • David Kendziera (Formerly of Prospect) takes 7th in the Mens 400H in 49.84.

  • Shamier Little (Formerly of Lindblom) takes 4th in the Womens 400H with a time of 52.98.
